Cycling – Trail Biking

Go Ride A Bike

Bicycles are great if you’re trying to get around, enjoy the woods, or get some miles in. Bonus: if you ride your bike on the ferry, you still only pay the walk-on fare (there is parking in Steilacoom).

Transportation

Bikes are a great way to get around the island because things are relatively close and there isn’t much traffic; but there are some hills, so take that into consideration. Electric bikes are ideal.

If you ride on the ferry and just want to check out the island for the day, it’s not too far to major sights from the ferry terminal.

Road

More advanced cyclists can take advantage of decent roads. The island is about 8 miles long, 5 miles wide, with a top elevation of 303 ft. If you’re looking for something more challenging, the road down to the Riviera Marina is pretty steep and windy.

Maybe cycle to one of the many parks and take a short hike in the woods to the beach.

Trail

If dirt paths in the woods are more your riding style, you’re in luck. Our amazing Anderson Island Park & Recreation District has created a challenging off-road bicycle course at Jane Cammon Park.
