The annual Anderson Island Parade & Fair is for fun for everyone, especially kids! Anyone can participte.
Island Parade and Fair Events (from Facebook)
The Island tradition of “celebrating” the end of summer is multi-faceted.
Starting with the Parade:
Everyone, whether walking, driving, crawling, or flying is invited to participate. If you have a group, funny costume, interesting vehicle, or just want to be seen, you are welcome to join in. We stage in the big lot at Nelson’s Corner (just south of the General Store) starting at 9:00am with the parade starting at 10:00. If you want to attract extra attention bring a bag of candy to throw to the crowd.
The Fair:
The parade terminates at the American Legion Community Center (ALCC). Here you will find food, children’s games, quilt raffle, and a silent auction. Credit cards are accepted. Events will end at 1:30. Proceeds will help with the maintenance and operations of the ALCC.
Full-timer, part-timer, or just visitor – come march or just watch. It’s the Anderson Island way.
If you want to participate in the parade, meet at the field at Nelson’s Corner, just south of the General Store.
